Adventures of Pocket Edward 2/21/10

Zippidee-doo-dah...Zippidee-ay...my oh my what a wonderful day!

Pocket Edward took his first trip (of many...annual passholders again!) to Disneyland on Sunday! Unfortunately, his inaugural trip was not the best because I didn't have a whole lot of support there with me, besides my hubs...who surprised the heck out of me by being so supportive. LOL! Otherwise, we were with my in-laws...and I don't think they understood the concept of having an action figure and taking pictures of him throughout the park. Therefore, I only snuck in a few...next time maybe we will have a bit more fun with Pocket Edward.

On my way to Disneyland - the happiest place on earth.

I debated...bring P.E. or not...but I figured, heck...since this is our first visit of the year...he just had to go. I didn't care who said/thought anything...I bought P.E. for just such an occassion so he was going to the happiest place on earth!

Sure...he may be "the big cheese" but he certainly has a ginormous head!

It's tough being an action figure...can't find any mouse ears to fit your head! It has now become my mission to find a pair of ears that will somewhat fit his well-coiffed head.

Wait til Jacob gets a look at this! I'M the Alpha...muahahahahaha

The hubs and I were waiting in line at Soarin' Over California and I looked up and saw this sign...and just HAD to snap a picture! Only my hubs was tall enough to reach the sign so he took one for the proverbial team and waited as I snapped multiple shots. He said that girls were laughing at him, yet he still stood there and waited...what a trooper!!

Ummm...I think I'm too small for Soarin' Over California. I'm definitely shorter than the indicator that is about 3 feet above me.

I wanted to get a picture of P.E. on some kind of ride...and can you believe that in 6 hours, this was the only ride we went on?! Yep, it was just that kind of day...next time, he'll go on MANY MANY rides.

It's like being at the zoo...so many tasty things through the looking glass...damn you looking glass.

We headed to the Animation Studio to take in the Toy Story Zoetrope - a spinning wonderwheel full of Toy Story characters that when spun and hit with strobe lights creates a magical story of running, bouncing and jumping creatures. It's one of my favorite, hidden gems at California Adventure.

I think I'll hide in this cave for those Brother Bear bears to come out again...chomp chomp chomp.

Our last bit of fun that day was the Brother Bear Rope Challenge...I meant to take some pictures of P.E. navigating the ropes course but alas, I completely forgot whilst being thrown around the rope bridge by running children and bouncing adults (namely the hubs).

Best joke of the day?!
- Why does Tigger bounce around on his tail all day?
....because he doesn't want to step on Pooh.

OMG too freaking funny! Our tram guide at the end of the day was a HOOT and told jokes on our way back to the parking structure. <3 him!

Afta the BAFTAs...sorry, it had to be done...

Did you see it?! I won't blame you if you didn't...not a lot of people watch BBC America, much less can find it on their guide. If you didn't...you missed a few major things...first, let's start with the pretty...

Robert Pattinson. I mean, come on, did you really think I wasn't going to start here? LOL! Yes, the dapper Mr. Pattinson did appear on the red carpet and presented the award for Best Original Screenplay (to The Hurt Locker - a Summit production...coinkydink?!).

To the delight of many screaming fans, he stopped and signed a few Twilight related baubles and even paused to take a few pictures with lucky fans! I was surprised at how much time he took with them and how relatively calm he looked! Normally he's a ball of fidgety energy, but I only saw a few swipes of the hair when his handlers whisked him away from the fan frenzy.

Then came his time to present the award...and this is where the ball of fidgety energy made its triumphant reappearance. First, he takes the time out to congratulate a previous winner, Jenny, for her BAFTA win for Best Make-up...best part? He starts with an awkward "Hi" before continuing. I mean, how freakishly charming is that?! He had a pure moment of Art from "How To Be" on-stage...favorite moment...by far.

Rob Presenting Best Original Screenplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83NZP0jttlA

Being home does a boy good...he's put on some happy-to-be-home weight, grown out the hair, SHAVED THE BEARD (thank GOD!) and just appears to be a bit happier. Well, also he's working on Bel Ami with some amazingly talented actors, so yeah, who wouldn't be happy? So let's discuss the cowlick in the middle of the room - really Rob's stylist? the one random bang thing? I'm ok with the evolution of his hair...I mean, it grows...and of course, it has to be a certain "look" for the period piece he's working on...but could someone not have combed that awkwardly placed bang back?! and if someone put it there, why are they a stylist? Regardless of how that little bang offended me, he looked great (of course) and I was happy to see how comfortable he looked amidst the frenzy - maybe in a weird way, he missed the fandemonium. Don't worry Rob, in just 4 months you'll feel the frenzy again with the release of Eclipse on 6/30/2010.

I could gush about Rob all day and given how wordy I can be...you know it's true ;) So, I'll move on to the winner of the night, Kristen Stewart.

Kristen looked absolutely beautiful! Simple hair (which has grown quite a bit while hiding from the pappers), makeup and beautiful dress (which honestly I thought white wouldn't work for her given her porcelin skin...but she does look good in white!)

One thing that hasn't changed...he general awkwardness and seemingly uncomfortable in her own skin-ness shone through her acceptance speech of the Rising Star Award - voted for by regional fans. The company she kept was absolutely amazing...some of those actors have blown me away in different movies I've seen them in (primarily on BBC America - see, it can be a good thing to watch sometimes!). But thanks to devoted fans, Kristen won - a fact not lost on her as she thanks the Twi-dom for their diligence and devotion.

Kristen accepting her Rising Star Award: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gB6B0WtMhM
Best part of that video was when she firmly planted the award on the podium...everyone else remember her fumble at the MTV Movie Awards? the Popcorn Award spill? Wouldn't have gone over too well in this prestigious crowd.

Moving on...

Anna Kendrick was at the BAFTAs both as a presenter and a nominee for Best Supporting Actor for her wonderful work in Up In The Air. Unfortunately she was once again denied by Mo'nique but I still beam with pride for this quirky and talented actress - she's going to go far! And I love the dress and hair-color...way to go Anna and stylist!

It was a Twilight Saga semi-reunion! Yep folks, that's Jamie Campbell Bower (Caius) and his special lady, Bonnie Wright. Name sound familiar? It should...she plays Ginny Weasley in the OTHER amazingly popular teen series, Harry Potter.

Well that's enough from me...especially since this blog is a whopping 3 days past due. And if you're like me...trying to figure out, what the heck does BAFTA stand for? Well here ya go: British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

Catch ya on the flipside...

Eclipse Trailer News!!!!

We've all been waiting for it...and waiting...and waiting...well, you get the picture. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse trailer has FINALLY been announced by Summit!!

We've seen teaser tweets from Eclipse director, David Slade who actually wanted to give us a New Year's present but Summit seemingly put the kibash on that...and since then we've seen the script and racy pics of Bella and Edward "leak" onto the world wide web but still no word on a trailer.

Until today...Twilight Facebook and on Twitter (both run by Summit) thanked the plethora of adoring fans by announcing that the Eclipse trailer would be shown before Remember Me, due in theaters March 12! Surprised? No...Excited? HELL YES!!

Better still, Summit announced that they have plans to make the trailer accessible the day of its release with Remember Me - so any of you Team Taycob people who just don't want to see Robert Pattinson in a movie take heed - you'll be able to see the trailer over and over again sometime on March 12.  When the link is available...you can bet your sweet bippy that I'll share with all of you!

So there you have it...insatiable Team rOBSESSEDward members will get an overdose of epic proportions on March 12, 2010.

Kristen at the BAFTAS - but now Rob?

Kristen Stewart has been the focal point of the Twi-hard nation when it comes to the BAFTAS (the BAFTAS are to Britain what the Oscars are to us) because she's up for a Rising Star award...but guess what? It's now rumored that Robert Pattinson will be joining the big show, along with MANY of his co-stars in the upcoming film Bel Ami (which is filming in Europe now).

Here's a picture that surfaced shortly after the announcement that Rob would be attending and presenting at the BAFTAS.

Why the big brouhaha? Well, it's now thought that this picture has been doctored by someone who has relatively good Photoshop skills. So now the question is...will he or won't he be there? Oh, and a follow-up question...if he is, will he show up with Kristen (who appears to be sitting behind Uma Thurman and Dustin Hoffman)?

Regardless...there are some amazing films/actors that are nominated this year and should be a pre-cursor to who we see walking away with Oscar this season. If you have a chance, be sure to catch it on BBC America. Not sure what channel that is (or if you even have it)? Check here for details: http://tv.yahoo.com/listings_setup. For my area (Los Angeles/Time Warner Digital Cable) the BBC America is on Channel 131 and the BAFTAS are scheduled to begin at 5pm.

I will post updates whenever I see them online...ooh this exciting! We may get to see the bearded man soon!

It's the little things...short convo with Tinsel Korey via Twitter

Normally I'm livid if I'm awake at 3am and am having a terrible time trying to go to sleep. This time, I was definitely ok with it...you see, I just came home from New Moon, opening night heaven! One of the only guys I know who was amazingly awesome to put up with the screaming went with me to not only the midnight showing of New Moon, but to the 9pm showing of Twilight. It was Robert Pattinson/Taylor Lautner mania and he stuck through it the entire time. Ok, enough gushing about my friend...heehee...off to the matter at hand.

It was 3am and I wasn't sleepy...my grin was from ear to ear and my Rob cup runneth over, so I opted to go onto Twitter to see what others were saying. All the fans were excited...most were beaming with pride as if our kids were performing some kind of live play in front of the world. And then there were the cast members...many of them had tweeted that night, much to the fans delight. I noticed that Tinsel Korey (who plays Emily, Sam's fiance) was tweeting and I responded - which is always a 1 way street...never get a response from them, nor do I expect to. These guys have tens of thousands of followers so why would anyone respond to me? Well, guess what? Tinsel responded and we had a teeny-tiny conversation! It made New Moon night that much more exciting...to have seen a movie I've waited forever for AND to talk to a cast member?! Best night ever...

Was the conversation life shattering? No. Was it long? No. Do I care? No. LOL! It was just cool! I had to screen cap it...for posterity and proof ;) The indented tweets are mine.

With the excitement I found that I had an even tougher time going to sleep. I wanted to wake my husband up and tell him that I spoke to someone that I just saw on the big screen. But at 4am, I think he'd have killed me ;) Finally went to sleep at 5am, woke up at 7am to get ready for work...but oh so worth it. Can't wait til 6/30/10! Eclipse!!!  :D

New Moon DVD - confused?! Join the club!

Doesn't it seem like it was just 5 minutes ago that we were all making plans for the 9pm Twilight viewing and then a scream-filled midnight viewing of New Moon?! But then there were all the questions;
  • go to the 9pm showing of Twilight to ensure a seat for New Moon or wait in line with all the other uber fans for the midnight viewing of New Moon and risk getting a bad seat? (my answer was go to 9pm Twilight followed by 12:01 am New Moon - best decision by far)
  • where do I preorder my tickets? which outlet is going to give me something free? (my answer was www.movietickets.com for the AMC theater in Burbank - got a free Anya Marina "Satellite Heart" download)
  • skip the midnight show altogether and go Saturday morning instead? (my answer - no way Josie! this gal wouldn't skip a midnight release for anything!)
  • how many times can I see it before it goes away from the theater (my answer is 4...bummed that I didn't see it at least 5 times)
The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD official release Saturday, 3/20/10

What? a Saturday Release? Yep...the smart folks over at Summit decided to release on a Saturday (which is NOT at all common) because they know their audience...this way, retail outlets can have midnight release parties - resulting in a win/win/win for retailers, customers and Summit.

Thought the questions were over with the release of the DVD?! Guess again...that's right, just like with the release of Twilight (after it's surprising success in the box office) there are multiple versions - some offering more than others, some with different covers and of course...all at different prices. Overwhelmed yet?! I know I am!! From the looks of things...I will most likely purchase from Target this time around - BluRay 2 Disc Deluxe Edition + Film Cell. So far, no one else is touting that they have the Exclusive Eclipse sneak-peek but knowing Summit, they'll add it to all versions. Will I pre-order/purchase? No...I'll grab a version when it comes out.

Midnight Release party info? There isn't any...yet. But I know they're coming...Hot Topic and Barnes & Noble are the most noteable suspects. Will I attend one? Most likely no...will I host a party (not necessarily at midnight)...maybe ;)

That's it for now...

Catch ya on the flipside!

Like sand in an hourglass...time passes...

Forgive me blog-father for it's been 12 days since my last confession...er, I mean blog.

A lot can happen in almost 2 weeks..and seriously, I felt like I was watching the Twi-boat float away without me. Heck, it got so bad I couldn't even launch my regular sites to keep me up to date with what's going on...much less have TweetDeck running which almost always sidetracks me from maintaining my path. I'm sorta like Homer Simpson in that regard...ya know, when he's seconds away from a total meltdown at the Nuclear Power Plant but gets sidetracked by donuts? Yep, that's me...except my "donut" is almost entirely Robert Pattinson/Twilight related (LOL why try lying to myself in a blog? donut = Robert Pattinson) ;)

The motherload of all "donuts" ::hmmm...maple bar:: were the leaked stills from the third installment of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. We Twi-hards (I still have a hard time referring to myself as any kind of "hard") have been chomping at the bit for a morsel of eye candy from Summit - and that's what we've gotten...a crumb here, a crumb there. But somehow, which happens A LOT, we get these leaked stills that Summit subsequently has a cow about. Hello?! Is this one of those, "oops, let's accidentally leak them for a limited time and then yell at those who have kept a few here and there?" erm, "who is it that's leaking our material?! we must try to plug the hole somehow" it's weird, right? I'm just saying. But alas, because of the work-week-from-hell, I was late and missed the Eclipse picture, chum-filled, waters...but thanks to some amazing blog-buddies, I was able to get my eye-fill...and wow, WOW!!!

::Warning:: if you want to be surprised close your eyes and scroll down a bit...otherwise, be prepared for some Bella/Edward hotness...

::you've been warned::

::no turning back now::

::ready? set? ....drool::

Does anyone else think that Stephenie would have a problem with this? She wasn't a fan of Catherine's original bedroom kiss scene...but Edward is a smidge grabby in this pic.

This definitely seems a little "outside the box"...although as I read this chapter in the book, this is what I saw. LMAO! P.S. I believe that this is MY FAVORITE chapter in Eclipse - Chapter 20: Compromise...no, I didn't need to look that up...yes, I know that's kinda sad/weird.

What about this?! I mean...Oh. My. Wow.

This is a mere sampling of the hotness that you can find on the net if you're crafty and know Google ;) Yes, I've seen them...and yes, they're all amazing. LOL! Don't wanna do the extra typing? Go to one of my favorite blogs on the planet for all the pictures - Malicious Mandy...what a trooper for "acting out" for all of our benefit!!! Just a warning - empty out those drool buckets before taking a gander at the rest of them...

Ok, now that that's out of the way...let's continue onto other topics...for a short time of course, I mean, I am a Team rOBSESSEDward gal afterall ;)

Taylor Lautner - Teen Vogue 2009

February 11, 2010 - a day that will live in Cougar Infamy.

The question all will ask when this day is brought up in the future...where were you the day that Taylor Lautner FINALLY turned 18? Yes, you heard right...Taylor is officially legal! You can now say the things you've always been thinking and not get the oogies afterwards! I mean, sure, he's still a pup, but he's definitely in the 18+ category which makes him fair game. Purr away cougars...purr away. P.S. in case you're wondering...this cougar prefers the shy, gangly, British pup ;)

The drought is over...

our Rob reserves are slowly starting to show some measured improvement...and as in most cases, the bucket is filled with drool.

Rob's been a busy guy lately - but luckily for him/unfortunately for us, he's been behind a shroud of English mystery. Yes, he's in England working on his latest film Bel Ami - which is slated to have some major female talent, including the likes of Christina Ricci (love her) and Uma Thurman (not a huge fan). But while he's away, the press outlets have already started to spin the wheels of the Remember Me PR-train, scheduled to hit a movie theater near you on March 12, 2010.

Robert Pattinson - Details 2010

First up is a rather honest, uncensored look into Rob, his career and his drinking habits in an upcoming issue of Details magazine. Warning - the article has LOTS of mature content, including nudity (no...not Rob - bet you just got a little sad) so it's NSFW but it is a good read:  http://www.details.com/celebrities-entertainment/cover-stars/201003/twilight-star-actor-robert-pattinson-remember-me

Robert Pattinson & Emilie DeRavin - Vogue 2010

Second is a short but sweet article in Vogue for Remember Me...in which Rob is in a brief pictorial with his co-star Emilie DeRavin. I really like this article...even though it is brutally honest about his fear of Twi-hards and the fact that we make him a "trained pony". Photos were taken at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Downtown Los Angeles...Emilie looks beautiful...and Rob, well he is always beautiful http://www.vogue.com/feature/2010_March_Robert_Pattinson_Emilie_de_Ravin/

Well, that's it from me today...this blog has effectively taken me over 4 hours to put together...once again, life becomes busy.

Catch ya on the flipside!

Adventures of Pocket Edward 1/30/10

Pocket Edward rides the rails in LaLa Land!

He took the metro...but he also looked the part ;)

That's right...Pocket Edward took a mini-tour of Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, January 30th, 2010; he jumped on the metro Gold Line in Sierra Madre and ended up in "J Town" otherwise known as Little Tokyo. First he dazzled in the sun while he posed with the Metro sign. Then he was gently placed into his preferred mode of transportation (i.e Romy's purse) and enjoyed the ride.

Pocket Edward shows us the way to Curry House - the best place on the planet (aka Los Angeles) for Japanese style curry. Know of another place? Lemme know! Poor Pocket Edward couldn't eat curry...but I saw him sneak a pack in his pocket to season up those "veggie burgers".

Although Pocket Edward couldn't partake of the yummy curry...I could...and lemme tell ya, with the pickled ginger?! It hit the spot!! It could've been a smidge spicier...but my tummy was still super happy :) It was then off to find the best Mochi place in-town...we ended up at Fugetsu-do Sweet Shop - a place that claims to have started the Mochi craze...true? not-so-true? dunno...either way, still yummy! I bought 5 pieces of mochi; 2 filled with red bean, 1 filled with white bean, 1 strawberry flavored and 1 sweet :) Hmmm...Pocket Edward should've taken a picture with them...but oh well, I ate 2 already ;) LOL!

Pocket Edward: Nice to meet you Miss Kitty. What a lovely scent you have...in fact, it's quite mouthwatering

Watch out Hello Kitty! Pocket Edward has his sights on you...and your general size and musculature would make a rather healthy meal for multiple members of the Cullen clan. While in J town, we visited a really cute Sanrio store...lots of stuff wanted to come home with me but the hubs just wouldn't allow it (gotta save...gotta save).

Hello Kitty: Oh Edward! Pocket Edward: uh-oh, I may have given her the wrong impression. Bella: EDWARD CULLEN!!!

Our trip ended when Pocket Edward jumped back into my purse (something about escaping Bella's wrath and Hello Kitty's growing obsession?) and we headed home on the Gold Line.

Stay tuned for Pocket Edward's next adventure!
