Adventures of Pocket Edward - The Twilight Convention LA 3/12/10 - 3/14/10

Whooppee!! I'm outta the house again...and this time I think I get to hang out with my own "kind"
Welcome to Pocket Edward's (and subsequently my own) inaugural visit to The Twilight Convention at the LAX Marriott Hotel; Creation Entertainment and Summit's offical Twilight Convention...a safe haven for the Twilight stars to come out and play with their fans. ::insert THANK YOU Creation and Summit for giving us a GREAT weekend full of wonderful memories (even for Pocket Edward)::

Ummm...no, something's wrong. Werewolves? Ugh...mongrels. Where is the right path to take for creatures who walk on 2 legs?

Upon entry...we were greeted with 2 signs; Werewolves in one direction, Vampires in another. Well, only problem...the Vampire sign led back outside. And although it killed me inside just a little, I had to go by way of the werewolves so that I could enjoy the convention.

Now this is more like it. Thank you for pointing me to civilized society. Blech...I can still sense that wet dog smell.

We quickly found our seats...Row P, seats 21, 22, and 23. We were Preferred Weekend ticketholders, basically that gave us row-by-row, autograph privileges. Although our seats were pretty good...Pocket Edward wanted a better view. So for a brief moment, he was a Very Important Person...

Hmmm...VIP? I'm not too sure about that...but ok, I'll take it. At least it's a place to sit down...pretend to blend in.

Creation and Summit had a lot of plans for us that weekend...Q&A with stars of the Twilight Saga movies, Karaoke, a Vampire Ball, panels with Twilight websites, autographs, photo opportunities and even private meet and greets!

Who are these Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli people? They resemble my family...well, not my "pocket" family because they haven't been manufactured yet ;)

Let's see what I can do during this convention? oh...a Vampire Ball. I'm sure Bella wouldn't want to go, it would break her "no dance" rule. I want to go to the ball ::pout:: Wait...Werewolves and Volturi?! Never mind...

They even gave us the opportunity to ask the stars questions. A lot of questions were pretty random - oddly enough, a lot were focused on Lady GaGa and favorite pie...yes, favorite pie. But then there were the really great questions about cast/set/filming. They didn't allow any video taping...so unfortunately I won't remember much of what they said...but I will try to paraphrase later on.

Hmmm...it seems that they give us the opportunity to ask questions. My question is for Embry Call: do you know of a way to quickly and effectively get rid of wet dog smell that has seeped into your couch?

This also marked another first for Pocket Edward...FANS! Yep...he was quite the little charmer at the convention. It made me happy to be able to share Pocket Edward with a few smiling faces :)

Hello Jessica! It appears that you have one dimple on the other side...but not this side...so, allow me to push it in so that you'll have a matching set. I'm all about symmetry.

Hello Megan! I quite like this "fan attention"...gets me out of the camera bag for a while.

Hello Debra! Would you like a hug? How sweet...

Show off your kicks! Cassie, Kristina and Serena have provided me with some HUGE shoes to fill. In fact, they're signed by humans...Justine and Justin.

These fans were VERY excited after their autograph session with Justine Wachsberger and Justin Chon. We were allowed to have the stars autograph 1 article per pass...and they chose to get these new shoes signed! They told me that the stars said they'd never signed a pair of shoes before! Guess what? They'll probably always remember that...very cool!

I don't believe that I'll get very far in these...

More love from fans...this convention thing is pretty good! Debra and Silvia really know how to make a Pocket Edward feel welcome

I feel the love, Silvia!

Whoa...where am I? Oh...I'm in the vendor hall, getting a ride from this nice lady from 39 Stars (http://www.39stars.com/)

I was on the lookout for the Bella bracelette...the one that Jacob gives her with the wooden wolf and then Edward adds the diamond heart bauble. I ended up at the 39 Stars booth and blammo...that's when I found it at a VERY good price! She really seems to love the fans...in fact, she really loved Pocket Edward too and he ended up in the bodice of her dress.

My "owner" was searching high-and-low for a bracelette similar to Bella's... JACKPOT!

A few posters lined the hallway to the auditorium and I thought it would be hilarious to embed Pocket Edward in them! The only hard part...how to actually get him in there? So...my friend Jessica (thanks sweetie!) held Pocket Edward in the desired location and I snapped a picture...and then Jessica removed Pocket Edward and I snapped another from the same spot. I then manipulated the picture and viola...Pocket Edward is now in scenes from New Moon! Have fun playing "Where's Edward?"

I don't believe that I can do much driving...maybe we ought to find another location on the car that would be better suited for my size...

Oh...hilarious...a hood ornament on Bella's car, how unexpected ::groan::

Run Bella, Run! If you run fast enough...I may take flight!

Well who is this rather handsome devil? He has exquisite taste in clothes...despite the hole.

As I mentioned earlier, there were chances to take pictures with the stars...which is seriously cool. If anyone is going to a future Twilight Convention, definitely consider taking at least the group photos...it's an experience that you'll never forget.

I was originally thinking that it would be really cool to add Pocket Edward to these pictures...except I was a little nervous that the wolfpack would eat him. So I chose to add him in after I got the print.

My "owner" insisted on taking a picture with these ::ahem:: people...

Ok...seriously?! What girl wouldn't want to be part of a Peter Facinelli and Kellan Lutz sandwich??! Again...can't stress it enough...definitely consider the group shots if you can't afford all of the single shot opportunities!

My "owner" then got the chance to take a picture with some men who look awfully familiar...I wonder what they'd look like if their hair color were swapped? Maybe I should suggest that Carlisle change his hair color to match the gentlman on the left.

It was definitely an exprience...Pocket Edward and I had a great time meeting a lot of people and I got MAJORLY picture happy...so in the next few days you'll see a lot of pictures from me, hope I don't bore you! LOL!

What a weekend! I'm exhausted...between fighting off wolves and volturi...and meeting some great fans, I'm ready to go back into the camera bag until my next big adventure.

Thanks for reading about Pocket Edward's latest adventures!

Catch ya on the flipside!
